WordPlay

May 21, 2010

WordPlay is the monthly performance event for the English speaking community. Monologues and short scenes, storytellers, poets and comedians…seasoned professionals and ‘newbies’ getting up in front of an audience for the first time… this is your sneak peak at the performers who create theatrical magic for you when they ‘tread the boards’ in productions here and abroad.

May highlights
The Opening Monologue: Shakespeare
The Immigrant Interview: Chantz Perkins, American Artist gone Dutch
Claartje van Swaai & Ben Silburn with another awesome act
maslow anchors our poetry corner
…and an exciting lineup of Open Mic performers!

Want to WordPlay with us?
Performers should sign up on the list via the reservations link; be sure to mention which genre you're working in. On the WordPlay evening, come at 8pm, warmed up and ready to perform. You’ll meet the host and confirm your spot on the line-up.

Keep in mind that you will be strictly limited to a maximum of 7 minutes! This is a no-tech evening: you’ll be given our attention and some time to shine - pared down and basic. No ‘sound check’, no on-site rehearsal. And remember: the focus is on you, the story you are sharing with us, and your talent. Don’t muddy the waters with costumes and props if they aren’t absolutely necessary!
